Video performance MEETING GROUNDS

Just as a spider makes its web, I too follow certain patterns,

(re)created from well-defined mental architectural structures.

I enter a dark tunnel and see small alcoves to the right containing

petrified sculptures: materialized residue of my memory.  I walk

through the tunnel, at the end I can see a wider space with a pile of

sand in the middle of the floor. I’m holding a flashlight, interacting

with the sounds and reacting to the environment. The flashlight

becomes a tool. I am standing in the middle of the sand pile, it feels

soft under my feet and I close my eyes. By moving my feet up and

down in the sand and fanning the flashlight in front of my face,

patterns of light appear and my mind starts to empty. I’m listening

to the sounds and voices and feel them enter.

I try to remember and repeat the sentences aloud.

I open my eyes and the light patterns fade. I jump off the sand pile

and walk back towards the  tunnel,

I walk out …
